Getting started as an eBay affiliate is as simple as 4 easy steps.
eBay knows you have a business to run, so they have created a step-by-step guide to see you down the road of success. With the eBay Affiliate Program, it is possible to make some big money with some hard work on your part. You could bring in $5, 1 or even $25,000 a month, as well as gain access to many tools and strategies that will optimize the working of your website. Getting started in a successful venture with eBay pretty simple. Drive traffic to eBay and get paid for it!
Step# 1
Is to register as an eBay Affiliate. Go to the eBay Affiliates Site and do a little research. When you have seen the unlimited opportunities for success that the eBay Affiliate program affords its members, you will next want to click on the ‘Join Now’ button. You will be directed to eBay's Affiliate Network (Commission Junction, or CJ.com) where you complete the forms. CJ can sometimes be a little confusing, so take your time and complete all the steps. It is best your website be operating before joining eBay through Commission Junction. That way when their little 'bots' go out to see if you are real, they'll see a website.
Step# 2
After you have completed your application, the eBay Affiliate network will send you an email with your login details and instructions on getting started. The application process itself is easy, and simply requires some information about your business. This information helps eBay optimize the tools and guidelines they provide you for your success. The application takes only a few minutes, and is not sold to competitors.
Step# 3
Once you have received your password and login information, you can proceed to the eBay affiliate network site to find eBay banners, text links, and search boxes. This website offers detailed tracking statistics. The tracking statistics will help you see which products and companies are performing best. This information will help guide you as you develop your affiliation with eBay, and will enable you to make the best decisions for your website’s performance.
Step# 4
The last step to success with the eBay Affiliate Program is to further grow your eBay strategy using the affiliate website and all of its many features. The affiliate website will not only get you started down your road to success with eBay, but they will provide you with invaluable tools to maximize your strategy. These tools and kits will help you transition into the affiliate member you want to be, and will continue to keep you updated so you stay current with trends and technology.
These 4 easy steps take you from learning about the eBay Affiliate Program, to being a successful eBay affiliate.
Just in case you haven't really 'got into eBay', here's some more information.
You've been hearing for years, "sell it on eBay". That's because eBay is an incredibly huge and exciting marketplace that is bigger than anything in the world.
It is the "shopping center of the Internet". Every day there are millions of items listed on eBay, and people from all over the world come to eBay to buy and sell everything imaginable. From trading cards, garden seeds to cars, trucks and airplanes.
The saying, "one persons junk is anothers treasure" certainly holds true on eBay. eBay makes it possible for people to find collectibles from all over the world and equally important, for sellers to reach a large enough market to find a buyer for their collectible.
Maybe you are looking for a part for your vintage car, model train, RV, moped or boat. In the good ol' days you would look around your city and garage sales and maybe run a "want-ad" in your paper. Now, you go online and the whole world is available. This means you have a much better chance of finding your part, and much quicker too.
I own a 30 year old motorhome. It is a classic made by GMC in the early 70's. Some parts are still available at the dealer, but most are not. Before the Internet became second nature to most people, finding parts was difficult and you depended on your club. Not any more. Discussion groups of like minded RVers and eBay makes owning a classic fun and hassle free. When I find extra parts, I put them on eBay and have never had to relist a part. They sell first time around. If I need a part, I am pretty sure I'll find it on eBay.
eBay sellers use the Internet to supplement their income. Working 2 or 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, it is not unusual to net $250, $500 or even $1,000 a week selling on eBay.
For those that really get into it, making $30,000 to $100,000 is also not unusual. It all depends on the amount of work you want to do, or how much you have to earn, and you'll do the work necessary.
What do you sell on eBay? Again anything you can imagine. Some things will move slowly, or will not be big earners. While other things will amaze you by how much you get.
Selling an estate is done all the time. Selling off a collection is a favorite and instead of yardsales, many people sell on eBay. The other thing that is really popular is buying wholesale and selling on eBay. Or buying from a liquidator (similar to wholesale), and reselling on eBay.
A tip tho. Don't buy used or returns from a liquidator. No need for long explanations, just think new if you're buying from liquidators or wholesale.
eBay was founded in September 1995 in San Francisco, and I joined in March 1999. At first it was to buy a few things I was looking for, but I soon figured out how eBay could change how and when I earned a living. One of the nice things about eBay is you earn money within a week of posting (assuming your item(s) sell. That's usually better than affiliation or Adsense marketing if you're looking for immediate cash.
Today, eBay has more than 175,000,000 registered members from around the world and is among the most popular Internet addresses. In fact, more people spend more time on eBay than on any other online site.
Buying or selling on eBay does not require you to have a lot of money. The financial risks are minimal as most items sold on eBay are between $5 and $50.
It is important to remember that an auction is a sale that is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for it. eBay provides you with the auction location, and they make that location available to the world through the Internet.
Of course selling on eBay doesn't mean that everything you sell has to be an auction. You can also have fixed pricing, reserved pricing (your item doesn't sell until the secret price you set is reaches) and other forms of selling which we discuss in our newsletter from time to time.
